MAY 10,000 bagong guro at 5,000 office staff ang kinakailangang i-hire ng pamunuan ng Department of Education (DepEd) ngayon dahil na rin sa dumaraming bilang ng mga mag-aaral.

Ayon kay Education Secretary Leonor Briones, layunin nilang mapaghusay pa ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng improvement ng “teacher-to-student ratio” at workload ng kanilang mga personnel dahil sa patuloy na paglobo ng enrolment levels sa mga pampublikong paaralan sa buong bansa.

“More than being part of our 10-point agenda, we want to stay true to our word that the Department is relentless in finding ways to enhance personnel welfare, while at the same time improving delivery of quality education,” anang kalihim.

Para tustusan ang paghahanap ng dagdag na guro at personnel ay naglaan ang DepEd ng P1.28 billion para sa hinahanap na 5,000 non-teaching positions at P1.27 billion sa hiring ng 10,000 guro.

Sinabi ni Briones na ang pondo ay kukunin sa kanilang 2020 proposed budget na P8.99 bilyon.

“We recognize the need to provide our teaching and non-teaching personnel with work conditions that will enable them to deliver quality basic education for all. Steadily, we’re ensuring that they are unburdened of ancillary tasks and equipped with necessary tools and materials to develop lifelong Filipino learners,” aniya pa.
